Pakistan and Hungary have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including agriculture, food, environment, water resources, engineering, vocational training and urban planning.
The understanding was reached at a meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjarto in Islamabad on Friday.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the incumbent PTI government has been focusing on geo-economic priorities.
He said Pakistan, with a population of 220 million, is an emerging market that offers enormous investment opportunities. He said the under-construction nine Economic Zones under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor offer ample investment opportunities.

The government has decided to merge the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) and the Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB) for ease of doing business in the power sector.
As envisioned by the government under the ease of doing business initiative, work on the merger of AEDB into PPIB is in full swing for processing power projects of all technologies, including alternative and renewable energy projects, at one place.

ISLAMABAD: China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will help increase the Pakistan’s dates cultivation, says a report carried by Gwadar Pro on Thursday.
The CPEC is poised to usher in a new era of trade and growth, Pakistani date growers pin their hopes on its different projects to help bring revolution in date farming.
The newly built motorways under CPEC are making the dates’ market accessible to farmers and helping them bring the latest machines and modern farming tools to their farms in remote parts of the country.
The report says, the consumption of dates, especially in its natural form, is an essential part of the Ramadan diet; dates are an unmissable part of iftar (breaking of fast) and Suhur (pre-dawn meal).

ISLAMABAD, April 30 (Xinhua) Abdul Razak Dawood, Advisor to Pakistani Prime Minister for Commerce and Investment, said on Friday that Pakistan intends to develop the Gwadar port as a regional trade and transit hub which helps countries in the region including landlocked Afghanistan and Central Asian republics reach the outside world.
A statement by the Pakistani Ministry of Commerce said Dawood made the remarks in his meeting with visiting Hungarian Minister of Foreign affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto.
Dawood noted that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is the flagship infrastructure project in Pakistan that aims to promote regional connectivity through the Gwadar port, which is located in Pakistan s southwestern Balochistan province.
