The former Scottish Tories leader hit out at the First Minister after the SNP claimed Scottish independence was an essential priority . Ms Davidson, the Scottish Conservative Party s Holyrood Leader, blasted the SNP for prioritising another vote when the main focus should be on vaccinating people from the deadly virus. The MSP for Edinburgh Central tweeted: There is a critical response to COVID that the Scottish government should be focusing on - and it is vaccination, not indyref2.

But this afternoon Downing Street said blame for the decision lay purely at the feet of Brussels.

The Prime Minister s official spokesman said UK negotiators had tabled their own proposals for visa-free access which the EU refused to accept.
He said: The EU offer fell short of our proposals. We pushed for an ambitious agreement with the EU on temporary movement for business travellers, which would have covered musicians and others, but our proposals were rejected.

The new force in politics is built upon the structure of the Brexit Party, itself formed in January 2019 to press for UK independence from within the European Parliament in Brussels. Mr. Farage was jubilant at hearing that the Electoral Commission approved the name change.
