Three law enforcement agencies seized $96,000 worth of drugs during an operation this week in north Alabama, police said Friday.
Agents with the North Alabama High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Task Force along with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Region 6 Drug Task Force and the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Kentucky men in the bust, which turned up two pounds of methamphetamine and 56 grams of cocaine worth a combined $96,000.
Also seized in the arrests of 52-year-old Michael Lamont Bass and 44-year-old Craig Yolando Montgomery were two handguns and $9,100 in cash, Huntsville police said.

That old social security scam is rearing its ugly head again.
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office is seeing an uptick in the area of scammers calling you about your Social Security Number being compromised and that a warrant has been issued for your arrest. Scammers call and claim you need to pay it immediately.
When you think about it, it doesn’t even make sense. If your social security number is being compromised, there wouldn’t be a warrant out for your arrest.

Update: The shooting suspect involved in the high-speed last night has been identified.
According to deputies, 25-year-old Adam Taylor of Toney, is charged with attempting to elude, reckless driving, and second-degree assault. Officials tell WAFF Taylor is being held in the Limestone County Detention Center, and no bond has been set.
Deputies say Taylor could be facing additional charges for possession of a firearm that was recovered from his vehicle. Taylor is also facing additional charges in Giles County, Tennessee.
