Fayetteville high schooler: The best year of our lives

Fayetteville high schooler: The best year of our lives Emmaline Morgan 2020 will be remembered as the year of loss. It stole from many their family members, their plans, their financial security, and for some, even their hope. It was a year full of sickness and doubt, chaos and grief, Zoom meetings and learning how to navigate a new world of masked faces and virtual schooling. As a senior in high school, it has been hard to accept the fact that this is how I will finish out my high school experience; online, without being able to see my friends. There probably will not be a prom this year. I might not be able to participate in track meets.

Trusting God s timing : 17-year-old from Rustburg receives long-awaited liver transplant

Hayden Grosvenor knows all about being patient. The 17-year-old Rustburg native and Liberty Christian Academy junior has spent most of his life patiently waiting for a liver transplant. This month, a wait that lasted more than 10 years finally came to an end for Grosvenor and his family when they received a call Dec. 11 that a liver had become available. The Grosvenors were relaxing at home when the phone rang at about 8:30 p.m. It was the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital telling them to pack their bags and get ready for their flight. “I just couldn’t believe it was finally happening,” said Laura Grosvenor, Hayden’s mom, remembering that night.
