Freedom Hill to host drive-in movies

STERLING HEIGHTS While normalcy after COVID-19 might not be here quite yet, drive-in movies are returning to Freedom Hill County Park starting this May.
Carl Gianotti, the owner and founder of Macomb County Drive-in Movies, said springtime is perfect for getting outside to have fun. He started running drive-in films at the Freedom Hill site last year as a response to the challenges COVID-19 brought. He said last year went so well that he wants to do it again.
“Families like it. People love it. They’re happy to see the drive-in movies back. It’s like a giant tailgate party before the movie people sitting in their chairs and blankets.”

MACOMB COUNTY Here s a look at some of the most interesting and bizarre items provided by police during the past year.
Man questioned after gun discovered in vehicle
WARREN A truck driver told Warren police he forgot about a gun discovered in a suitcase inside of his semi cab at the gated entrance to the U.S. Army Detroit Arsenal property on 11 Mile Road east of Mound Road Feb. 21.
The man, a 62-year-old Ohio resident, said the loaded Browning .25 caliber pistol was his grandfather’s and that it had passed to him from his mother. The gun was found during a search at a checkpoint at the entrance to the military installation at about 11:30 p.m.
