Daily Paper and Off-White™ to Open First Fully Functioning Skate Park in Ghana

+ Diverting from their regular apparel releases, Daily Paper and Off-White™ have now joined forces to build the first-ever functioning skate park in Ghana. Featuring additional team-ups with social collective Surf Ghana and spatial design studio Limbo Accra, the new space is located in the heart of the country’s capital. Coinciding with the opening of Freedom Skate Park, Daily Paper is set to release a capsule range with Surf Ghana, as well as an exclusive T-shirt with Off-White™. All proceeds from the projects will be dedicated to the construction of the skatepark, which is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2021. Additionally, Virgil Abloh‘s firm Alaska Alaska, which designed the Freedom Skate Park logo, will be contributing to design elements of the space.

+ Last month, Off-White™, Daily Paper and Surf Ghana announced a collaborative initiative to build the first fully functioning skate park in Ghana. To support the construction of the site, the three names have come together once again for a charitable capsule dedicated to the Freedom Skate Park. Initially launched at Daily Paper’s annual pop-up in Ghana, the collection is now set to be available worldwide. The lineup is comprised of three T-shirts, a long-sleeved top and a bucket hat. Made of 100 percent cotton, the Daily Paper x Surf Ghana pieces are emblazoned with “Freedom and Skate” text, which celebrates the social collective’s commitment to making skateboarding more accessible in the country. Meanwhile, the Daily Paper x Off-White™ items feature Virgil Abloh‘s signature Arrow Print with a design inspired by cacao beans, one of Ghana’s main export goods.
