Govt faces IR bill delays due to Porter allegations06/03/2021|1min
The Coalition s Industrial Relations bill could be delayed as the fallout continues from rape allegations brought against his Attorney-General.
Christian Porter was leading negotiations between the coalition and the crossbench over changes to the bill before taking a leave of absence.
South Australian senator Rex Patrick said the government had no chance of passing the legislation this month without Mr Porter.
Independent Senator Jacqui Lambie also advised plans could be dropped for a senate vote in the week starting on March 15.

Independent Senator Jacqui Lambie says she is glad the two elderly Queenslanders are okay this morning and she hopes news of the vaccine overdose doesn’t “break any confidence out there in the sector”.
On Wednesday two elderly Queenslanders were injected with four times the recommended dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at an aged care home.
The doctor has been stood down from Australia’s coronavirus vaccine rollout program after giving the two patients the incorrect dosage.
“It’s probably not the best start that we were looking for,” Ms Lambie told Sky News.
“I just hope it doesn’t break any confidence out there in the sector.
“There will be some bumps in the road, there’s no doubt about that and people will have adverse reactions that we probably won’t see or are not expecting.
“We’re just going to have to ride through it unfortunately.
“The main thing is those two elderly people seem to be OK this morning so that’s a good result.”
