On April 17, the K-pop group BTS streamed a series of virtual concerts as a sequel to their first Bang Bang Con event in 2020. This virtual concert received massive viewership, surpassing 2.7 million simultaneous viewers globally. With this impressive accomplishment under their belt, BTS have streamlined a new form of interaction with their fans in the now largely contactless world of entertainment.
The event started with a telecast recording of the Seoul concert âBTS Live Trilogy Episode I: BTS Begins.â This concert was originally held over the course of two days in 2015, featuring songs from the albums â2 Cool 4 Skool,â âO!RUL8,2?,â âSkool Luv Affair,â and âDark & Wild.â The event began with some throwback pictures to the boysâ middle school days, throwing their fanbase (ARMYs) down the nostalgic deep end. The event follows the success of the first
Bang Bang Con in April 2020 which reportedly received more than 750,000 million views from 107 countries.
BTS announced the new installment to their nearly 40 million followers on Instagram on Monday, April 11 with a series of nine posts that racked up a combined 10 million likes and counting.

BTS have announced their second annual Bang Bang Con livestream event, airing April 17th at 2:00 a.m. EDT on the Bangtantv YouTube channel.
Just like the first Bang Bang Con streaming event, which aired last April, Bang Bang Con 21 will offer fans free access to videos of the group’s past concerts and fanmeets. The event kicks off with one of their early concerts, 2015 BTS Live Trilogy: Episode I. BTS Begins, and then continues on with their global fanmeet, BTS 5th Muster [Magic Shop], held in June 2019. The event concludes with BTS World Tour Love Yourself: Speak Yourself, held in São Paulo, Brazil, in May 2019.
