7K tourism workers to get 1st dose Covid-19 vax

June 28, 2021 AN estimated 7,000 workers in the tourism sector in Davao City will be receiving their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine beginning Wednesday, June 30. City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) Head Generose Tecson told SunStar Davao in a phone interview on Saturday, June 26, that the vaccine rollout will be at the Garden Pavilion of the Waterfront Insular Hotel Davao in Lanang for three days. Tecson said the number was based on the pre-registration link sent by the City Health Office for the tourism sector, through the Davao Tourism Association (Data). Based on the initial tourism data, tourism workers composed of airport workers, restaurants, hotels, event organizers, tourist transport, tour agencies, tour guides, and other tourism-accredited establishments will be inoculated with Sinovac.

People apprehended with fake RT-PCR test now at 100

May 07, 2021 THE Davao City Government has apprehended a total of 100 persons who have presented falsified reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test results at the Francisco Bangoy International Airport (FBIA), also known as the Davao International Airport. All kinds of international, domestic flights now allowed in Davao City

SunStar Photo by Mark Perandos May 06, 2021 DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio issued Executive Order No. 26 on Thursday, May 6, 2021, allowing the resumption of all kinds of flights, such as scheduled international flights, unscheduled domestic commercial flights (chartered), and other general aviation flights to and from Davao City. Duterte-Carpio, according to the EO, said there has been a proposal in a letter dated May 4 from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap)-Davao International Airport (DIA) highlighting the need to remove all restrictions on flight operations to allow for more economic activities in relation to civil aviation. City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO) Head Generose Tecson said the lifting of restrictions of all air travel will further encourage air companies to resume their international flight operation.
