Democrat Jonathan Ahmadi Announces Campaign For State Assembly District 38 Local community leader, engineer and staff member for former congresswoman Katie Hill, Jonathan Ahmadi, has announced his candidacy for State Assembly District 38, which includes Santa Clarita.  “The communities of the Santa Clarita and Simi Valleys are at a crossroads,” Ahandi said in a statement Thursday. “The challenges posed by the homelessness crisis and the skyrocketing cost of housing are daunting, and we must face them while trying to recover from the pandemic that brought so much suffering and economic pain to so many working families.” Currently represented by Republican Suzette Martinez Valladares from Santa Clarita, State Assembly District 38 encompasses Santa Clarita and the surrounding valleys. The seat is up for election in 2022.
