They are built for comfort and to be driven long distances and generally feature a mix of current and obsolete technologies. A street rod will feature techniques from several other car building subsets but do not have a specific identity like a Kustom or a Gasser would. The historic aftermarket performance parts manufacturer is moving its headquarters from Torrance, California, to Olive Branch, Mississippi, just south of Memphis, Tennessee. One year ago, Edelbrock and its Russell Performance division joined forces with the COMP Performance Group, which is based in Memphis. In addition to Comp Cams and Edelbrock, the group includes TCI Automotive, FAST Fuel Air Spark Technology, Racing Head Service, ZEX, Inglese Induction Systems, Powerhouse Products, COMP Vthunder, and COMP GoParts.

Good riddance, in my opinion. I d imagine a lot of folks reading this feel similarly. 2020 was an unprecedented year for all of us personally, as well as professionally for your humble author and my colleagues at MotorTrend Group. Though it s very tempting to leave 2020 in the rearview mirror where it belongs, I believe there are things to learn amid the difficult times. As a staff, we have had to learn to make a lot of online content on very few resources. Cost-saving measures, as well as company restrictions on travel, meant we turned to our archives or hyperfocused on local assets for fodder to write about. That s not necessarily a bad thing, either.
