ValleyFair Announces May 22 Open Date for 2021 Season
As COVID vaccines continue to become readily available and both the CDC and Governor Walz roll back COVID restrictions, Minnesota s biggest amusement park has announced its open date for 2021 and its policies for the season.
Roller coaster riders rejoice ValleyFair has announced that it will be open for the 2021 season starting May 22 with the sister park Soak City Waterpark opening for the season Saturday, May 29 (Memorial Day). Valleyfair will open May 22 and Soak City Waterpark will open on May 29, the amusement park posted on Facebook. Thank you for your continued loyalty and we look forward to seeing you on our midways this summer!

It was during yet another night of quarantine, locked inside, nowhere to go, when I found you. I was emotionally spiralling betwixt the four narrow walls of my one-bedroom apartment, alone. My sweatpants consumed me like a second skin, my hair unbrushed, and the concept of fresh air was becoming an all-too-distant memory. The night before, I accidentally fell asleep with a tube of Pringles and when I awoke the crumbs still remained clutched to my sweater. I left them. (Also, when I say accidentally, I knew full well what was happening, and didn t regret a single second.) Quarantine had become monotonous, and I needed something to shake me from my rut. Then I met you on TikTok.
WILMETTE, Ill. (WLS) An electric blanket may have caused a fire that damaged a home in north suburban Wilmette.
When Wilmette Fire Department first arrived, heavy gray smoke was visible from the front window of the single-family residence.
Five people inside the house were able to get out safely.
The people in the house told Wilmette Police they saw an electric blanked engulfed in flames before they escaped. The blanket was located on a sofa in the front sitting room.
Firefighters encountered heavy, dark smoke as they entered the home and opened the door to the fire room. The fire was extinguished and confined to the room. The amount of damage to the residence and limited fire spread was due to the occupants closing the door of the fire room and front door, according to fire officials.
