Evacuation order lifted as crews continue to contain wildfire burning near Cochise
COCHISE, Ariz. (KVOA) - The evacuation notice in Cochise has been downgraded to Pre-Evacuation (SET) status after a wildfire ignited in southeastern Arizona Tuesday afternoon.
According to officials, a wildfire ignited near the Cochise Stronghold Campground. With the blaze initially projected to travel north, emergency officials originally ordered residents living near and in Cochise to immediately evacuate the area.
The evacuation notice has since been downgraded to Pre-Evacuation (SET) status.
According to officials, the fire is burning at a campground off of Dragoon Road.
