Burger India, IRCTC, Route Mobile, Happiest Minds, CAMS, Sun TV, UTI Asset now part of MSCI India Domestic Small Cap Index
Adani Enterprises, Adani Total Gas and Adani Transmission have entered MSCI India Domestic Index, according to a release by the index provider. SBI Cards and Payment and Apollo Hospitals too have entered the leading index, which is being tracked widely by global investors.
The half-yearly review of MSCI India index saw exclusion of Zee Entertaiment Enterprises, TVS Motor Co and Abbott India from the index and they have been included in the MSCI India Domestic Small Cap Index.
The equity barometers trimmed losses in early afternoon trade. The Nifty regained 14,750 mark after hitting the day s low of 14,695.10 in mid-morning trade.
At 12:20 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, dropped 306.93 points or 0.62% at 48,854.88. The Nifty 50 index lost 82.10 points or 0.55% at 14,768.65.
In the broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index fell 0.16% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index rose 0.12%.
The market breadth was positive. On the BSE, 1,575 shares rose and 1,290 shares fell. A total of 165 shares were unchanged.
Indian stock markets will remain closed tomorrow, 13 May 2021 on account of Id-Ul-Fitr (Ramzan Id).
Derivatives:
The NSE s India VIX, a gauge of market s expectation of volatility over the near term, advanced 2.08% to 20.2425. The Nifty 27 May 2021 futures were trading at 14,765, at a discount of 3.65 points as compared with the spot at 14,768.65.
Sun TV Network To Provide A Help Of 30 Crores To Fight COVID
The network will support the initiatives by the state and central governments.
Sun TV Network has donated
30 crores to help people fight the second wave of Covid-19 in the country. The television network put out a statement on Monday, which spoke about how they would be supporting the initiatives by the state and central governments with donations and also tie-up with NGOs who are helping people with oxygen cylinders and medicines.

The statement read: “Sun TV network is donating a sum of Rs. 30 crores to provide relief to those affected by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. This will be spent on several initiatives currently under way at various states of India including the following: 1. Donations to the various programmes initiated by the Government of India and State governments. 2. Partnering with NGOs that are providing oxygen cylinders, medicines etc.”
The domestic equity indices were trading with small losses in early afternoon trade. The Nifty index hovered below 14,900 level.
At 12:20 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, dropped 203.50 points or 0.41% at 49,298.91. The Nifty 50 index lost 45.25 points or 0.30% at 14,897.10.
In the broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index added 0.63% while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index rose 1.12%.
The market breadth was strong. On the BSE, 1,840 shares rose and 1,004 shares fell. A total of 198 shares were unchanged.

The NSE s India VIX, a gauge of market s expectation of volatility over the near term, fell 1.92% to 19.8350. The Nifty 27 May 2021 futures were trading at 14,928, at a premium of 30.90 points as compared with the spot at 14,897.10.
