Q: Both the House and the Senate are hoping to pass the COVID-29 vaccination program bill. Do you believe that it will be passed today?
SFMD: Yes, Karen. It will be passed by today especially if we already have on hand the certification of the President as to the urgency of the measure. There are some amendments but I don t think it is such of nature that the passage of this would be delayed. We have some provisions which are different from the House, so there must be some coordination to harmonize without going to the bicam. Hopefully we can settle those differences today and pass the bill on second and third reading from both houses and send it immediately to the President within the week.
Panay-Guimaras-Negros bridge construction won’t start under Duterte administration Drilon
CONSTRUCTION of the Panay-Guimaras-Negros (PGN) bridges will be passed on to the next administration, Senate Minority Leader Franklin M. Drilon said on Wednesday following a meeting with the government’s adviser for flagship projects. “There is simply no time,” Mr. Drilon said in a statement. The senator, who hails from Iloilo where the Panay link will be located, said Presidential Adviser for Flagship Projects Vince B. Dizon informed him that the project is still undergoing feasibility study and that the target date for starting construction is 2023. Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Information Officer Randy R. Del Rosario confirmed this, saying the project is still in the “Feasibility Studies stage.” Mr. Drilon has been pushing for the bridges that will span 32.47 kilometers, connecting the three islands of Panay, Guimaras, and Negros and boost the Western Visayas

With over one year left in the Duterte administration s term, the construction of the Panay-Guimaras-Negros bridges will be left to the next administration, according to Ilonggo senator and Senate Minority Leader Franklin M. Drilon. There is simply no time. The Panay-Guimaras-Negros is an undelivered commitment to the people of three islands of Western Visayas - Iloilo, Guimaras and Negros. Its construction will be left to the next administration, said Drilon, who has been pushing for the immediate implementation of the 32.47-km bridges that will connect the three islands.
Drilon met with Bases Conversion and Development Authority President Vince Dizon, who is President Duterte s adviser on flagship programs and projects, to discuss the status of PNG.

"How can we say that there are deliveries without the supply agreements?" Drilon asked. "Are we saying that those term sheets will obligate manufacturers to deliver the amounts stated on the term sheets on a particular date?" he added.
