The World Bank funded Chennai City Partnership formulated as a unique model of development co-operation will be implemented in three phases over a period of seven years.

AAA A damage to the pipeline caused a sinkhole in the service lane of Sardar Patel Road on Saturday night.
However, vehicular traffic was not affected as the damaged line was located below the elevated tracks of the Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) near the Kasturba Nagar railway station.
Officials of the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) said the source of the problem was a sewer main line running from Gandhi Nagar in Adyar to Rajiv Gandhi Salai. The pipe had corroded causing the road to sink at that point on Saturday night.

Velumani holds review meeting Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural Development S.P. Velumani on Wednesday asked officials of the Greater Chennai Corporation to ensure that all conservancy workers rendered jobless after the privatisation of solid waste management work were absorbed by the contractors.
He said this while reviewing the COVID-19 prevention and other development work carried out by the Corporation, the Rural Development Department, the Commissionerate of Municipal Administration and the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board.
He asked the officials to expedite the work under the Tamil Nadu Urban Road Infrastructure Project, maintenance of waterbodies and drainage work.

Repair work on sewers disrupts water supply in TVS Colony Residents of Anna Nagar West Extension in Chennai are demanding a permanent solution to leaking sewers that frequently cause road cavity.
On Friday, the drinking water pipeline was damaged during the work to repair the sewer network on 57th Street, TVS Colony. Residents said this caused road cavity and now the water distribution network too had been damaged.
