UDF dominates in this decade-old constituency

Thrikkakara chose Cong. candidates in 2011 and 2016 The Thrikkakara Assembly constituency is just a decade old and in the two elections since its formation, the electors have sent Congress party candidates to the Assembly. The recently-concluded elections to the local bodies had seen the United Democratic Front (UDF) and the Congress party dominate. The Left Democratic Front (LDF), which came second in both the Assembly elections, is on the lookout for a suitable Independent candidate to contest the seat and pose a challenge to the incumbent as the constituency includes some parts of the Kochi Corporation where the UDF held sway in the recent elections to the local bodies.
