Campaign hopes to give restaurants boost

Campaign hopes to give restaurants boost Journal-Courier FacebookTwitterEmail The Alton-headquartered Great Rivers & Routes Tourism Bureau has launched the Carryout Champs campaign to support struggling eateries. “We want people in our region to become Carryout Champs and support locally owned restaurants in our … region,” said Cory Jobe, president of the tourism bureau. “By continuing to order from our local restaurants, we are helping to keep doors open and people employed.” Diners are asked to show off their carryout orders by taking a photo of the food, tagging the restaurant and posting the photo on social media using the hashtag #CarryoutChamp.
