Troops arrest suspect connected with Zango Kataf killings

Share Troops under the auspices of Operation Safe Haven have reported the arrest of one Shehu Musa, a suspected bandit and gunman connected with the recent attack on Zango Kataf where seven people were killed and several houses burnt down. This was contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, on Tuesday. The statement said, “the arrest was based on a tip-off and following careful investigations into last December’s deadly attack in Gora Gan, Zangon Kataf local government area the suspect was arrested.” The statement further revealed that during the attack seven persons were reportedly killed while 13 houses were burnt and several properties destroyed.

TODAY January 23, 2021 Troops of Operation Safe Haven in conjunction with Defence Headquarters Special Forces have arrested two people suspected to be bandits between Ungwan Wakili and Zango Urban in Zango Kataf LGA of Kaduna State. A statement signed by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan on Friday said that the two suspects are in the troops’ custody undergoing preliminary investigation. “Troops under the auspices of Operation Safe Haven, in conjunction with troops of the Defence Headquarters Special Forces arrested two suspected bandits between Ungwan Wakili and Zango Urban in Zango Kataf Local Government Area. “The two suspects, Abdulhameed Abubakar Bala and Abubakar Abdulhameed Garba, were arrested following a tip off, in connection with their alleged involvement in a series of attacks on Gora Gan, Damkasuwa, Zonzon and Kwaku in December 2020.

The suspects’ arrest was effected following a tip off and they are in the custody of the troops undergoing preliminary investigation. He said the suspects, Abdulhameed Abubakar Bala and Abubakar Abdulhameed Garba were arrested by the troops at Ungwan Wakili and Zango Urban in Zango Kataf Local Government, following a tip-off, in connection with their alleged involvement in a series of attacks on Gora Gan, Damkasuwa, Zonzon and Kwaku in December 2020.

Lloyd Austin, former Fort Bragg commander, confirmed defense secretary

The Fayetteville Observer The Senate on Friday confirmed Lloyd Austin as the nation s first Black defense secretary, the second nominee of President Joe Biden to be confirmed by the chamber. Austin is a retired four-star Army general and former Fort Bragg commander who will be the first Black secretary of defense. He was the first Black general to command an Army division in combat and also the first to oversee an entire theater of operations as the commanding general of U.S. forces in Iraq. He is a 1975 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and served 41 years in uniform.
