Over the past seven days Hamas, an Iranian funded and supplied terrorist organization, has fired 3000 rockets at civilian targets in Israel. A number of Israeli citizens have been killed, but thousands of deaths are being prevented because of the country s Iron Dome defense system, which is funded by the United States.
The ???????? partnership has saved countless lives this week. Thank you U.S.! #IronDome
Members of the leftist media have taken notice and instead of roundly condemning Hamas for sending rockets, they re condemning the use of the Iron Dome.
Iron Dome up to this point has saved Israeli lives from Gaza rocket attacks, while enabling air campaigns against Palestinian citizens. But the reduced pressure to resolve the conflict with Gaza also means Iron Dome gives Israelis a false sense of security, based on technological success which isn’t guaranteed forever rather than political solutions.

On Friday, the Israeli Air Force bombed a building in Gaza that served as headquarters for the Associated Press and Al Jazeera, the pro-Palestinian, Arab propaganda organ.
No one was hurt or killed because the IDF gave a one-hour warning that the building was going to be destroyed. That didn’t stop the AP from issuing a statement from its CEO Gary Pruitt that condemned Israel in the most hysterical terms.
“We are shocked and horrified that the Israeli military would target and destroy the building housing AP’s bureau and other news organizations in Gaza. They have long known the location of our bureau and knew journalists were there. We received a warning that the building would be hit.”

Every day, I read about our complicated world in the news. And I ask myself: what would my father think about this? And what would he have done?
Many days, it’s not easy to know. But I’m relieved to know that the answer today is clear.
Rockets have been launched at Ashdod, Ashkelon, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. And I know my father would have flown to Israel, the way he did during every one of its wars from 1956 until Operation Protective Edge in 2014, two years before his death.
My father appreciated that many Diasporic Jews supported Israel by raising money and defending its actions to a hostile world. And while he disagreed, he also understood that other Diasporic Jews expressed their passion for the Jewish state through criticism.
