Breaking News | Crime Police rescue three female victims abducted on Oyo highway

It would be recalled that the women, identified as Mrs Okeowo, Mrs. Abosede Adebayo, and Mrs Bola Ogunrinde., were abducted by gunmen around the Onipe community of Oyo State on Monday, April 12 The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the rescue of the abductees in a statement issued on Friday and made available to newsmen in Ibadan. Osifeso said that the rescue was made possible as a result of pressure and intelligence from the Police along with effective utilization of local hunters and vigilantes under the supervision of the Police.

Share Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested the suspected killers of an Ibadan farmer, Mr Wole Agboola; a petrol station owner in Igbo-Ora at Ibarapa Zone, Alhaja Sherifat Adisa, as well as the abductors of the chairman of Igangan Local Council Development Area (LCDA), also in Ibarapa, Mr Adeleke Jacob Olayiwola, among others. Speaking during the parade of the suspects at the police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, on Wednesday, the state Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, recalled that Honourable Olayiwola was kidnapped on Iganna-Ado Awaye Road, with a demand of N5.5 million as ransom. The police boss said operatives of the command swung into action immediately the council boss was set free after the kidnappers had collected the ransom.
