Following wins in the Geers Stakes and his first Pennsylvania Sire Stakes preliminary, I Did It Myway ($3.00) ran his career record to a perfect three-for-three with a 1:52.2 score in his $54,020 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes division for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Sunday (July 18) at Harrah s Philadelphia.
The son of Captaintreacherous and Flyme To The Moon yielded to Birthday on the first turn before accelerating to clear the lead at the conclusion of a :27.4 first quarter. From that point on, I Did It Myway lived up to his name, travelling unchallenged through middle splits of :57.1 and 1:24.4. Still 1-1/2 lengths in front at the eighth pole, I Did It Myway dug in stoutly to repel a late challenge from pocket rival Birthday by a half length. Threshold finished third, another 5-1/4 lengths behind.
The up-and-coming younger performers attracted the Friday spotlight at Harrah’s Philadelphia, ahead of two consecutive cards with Pennsylvania Sire Stakes races for two-year-olds, with three $12,600 events for the various classifications.
The Somebeachsomewhere sophomore colt Literl Lad Hanover, a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes winner earlier this year, got back on the winning track with a lifetime mark of 1:50.4 going wire-to-wire against the pacing males. Driver George Napolitano, Jr. put the three-year-old quickly on the lead and hung up splits of :27.1, :55.3, and 1:22.3 while boosting his lifetime earnings to $172,611 for the meet’s leading trainer, Ron Burke, and the partnership of Burke Racing Stable LLC and Weaver Bruscemi LLC, J&T Silva- Purnel & Libby, and Wingfield Five LLC.
I Did It Myway opted to control the mile rather than enjoy a pocket trip, a decision that paid when he scored in a stake-fastest 1:52.1 in the $165,257 Pennsylvania Sires Stake at The Meadows on Saturday (July 3). The event for freshman colt and gelding pacers, known as the Albatross, was contested over three divisions, with Night Hawk and Wearinmysixshooter taking the other splits.
I Did It Myway, who entered the Albatross off a front-stepping Tompkins-Geers win in his career debut, shot to the early lead from the rail but yielded to JMs Finaltreasure, the 3-5 favourite. Winning driver Todd McCarthy, however, did not consider that the garden spot.

Former Pres. Trump To Speak At N.C. GOP Convention
Donald Trump gave a rare speech to the Republican Party of North Carolina’s annual convention on Saturday evening.
The former president appeared at the event in Greenville, North Carolina, as he has reportedly been telling friends to push the idea he will be back in the White House in August.
During the speech Mr Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, announced that she would not run for the state’s US Senate seat.
Ms Trump, who is married to Eric Trump, had been hotly tipped to run for elected office but after she was called up on stage by the former president she revealed she would not run.
