1. The Scottish National Party won 64 of the 129 seats in the Scottish Parliament, one more than in 2016. The pro-independence Green Party increased the number of its lawmakers from 6 to 8.
2. Copper skyrocketed this week to an all-time high. The last copper price record was set in 2011. Copper futures rose as high as US$ 10,440 per ton in London on Friday.

Ransomware Attack Makes Largest Fuel Pipeline in U.S. to Close

Colonial Pipeline is the operator of the biggest gasoline pipeline in the U.S. Colonial Pipeline ceased operations late Friday after a ransomware attack. FireEye Inc. said its Mandiant incident response division is assisting with the investigation. Colonial Pipeline is a main channel for the eastern half of the U.S. when it comes to gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. The Colonial Pipeline transports more than 100 million gallons of gasoline and other fuel daily from Houston to the New York Harbor. Colonial Pipeline has contacted law enforcement and other federal agencies.
The Carlyle Group, through CA Emerald Investments, sold down its position in SBI Life Insurance Company through the block deals in the open market. ESR Cayman Buys HK Property for Data Center

Hong Kong-based ESR Cayman purchased a property located in Kwai Chung, one of the major data center clusters in Hong Kong. ESR Cayman seeks to convert the property into a 40 MW data center. The building hopes to have a value of around US$ 675 million on completion.
“This is a major strategic move for ESR as it represents our first acquisition in Hong Kong and further establishes our data center franchise,” said Jeffrey Shen and Stuart Gibson, ESR co-founders and co-CEOs in a press release. “Hong Kong is an important data center market in the APAC region, with its low electricity costs, limited climate risks and established network capability. It is also one of the world’s top financial centers as well as the home to ESR’s headquarters.
