More condolences yesterday poured in over the death of the Chairman and founder of Leadership Newspapers, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah, with the Adamawa State Governor, Mr. Ahmadu Fintiri; the Minister Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Muhammad Bello; former Chairman, The Punch, Chief Ajibola Ogunshola; and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), expressing sadness over his sudden demise.
Nda-Isaiah died on Friday at the age of 58.
Fintiri expressed deep shock over the death, describing Nda-Isaiah as an embodiment of leadership.
In a statement by his Press Secretary, Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, the governor noted that Nda-Isaiah’s sterling qualities stood him out as a rare Nigerian, who interpreted the Nigerian situation with great understanding and passion for the growth and development of the nation.

As tributes continue to pour in for the late Publisher of Leadership Newspapers, Sam Nda-Isaiah, who passed away Friday, President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, described Nda-Isaiah’s demise as a big fish gone out of the media ocean. Describing him as “a friend and ally”, the president said, “The country has lost a man of conviction, a resolute and dogged believer in a better Nigeria.”
A statement by the president’s spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina, said Buhari condoled with the media fraternity, the Nda-Isaiah family, friends and associates of the deceased.
President Muhammadu Buhari said with his death, a “massive fish” had gone out of the “media ocean.”
President Buhari, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, voiced shock and sadness at the demise of a man he described as “a friend and ally.”
The President, who commiserated with the media fraternity, the Nda-Isaiah family, friends and associates of the deceased, said “the country has lost a man of conviction, a resolute and dogged believer in a better Nigeria.”

The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Saturday, expressed shock and sadness over the death of the publisher of Leadership Newspapers, Sam Nda-Isaiah.
Nda-Isaiah died on Friday evening at 58.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in a statement titled ‘Nda-Isaiah; He was a friend and ally, says President Buhari,’ said Buhari condoled with Nda-Isaiah’s family, friends and associates.
“The country has lost a man of conviction, a resolute and dogged believer in a better Nigeria. He will be sorely missed. This is a massive fish gone out of the media ocean,” Buhari was further quoted as saying of the pharmacist, renowned columnist, and one-time presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
According to him, Adeboye assured him that all would be well.
Obaseki revealed this on Friday night at this year’s RCCG Holy Ghost Congress which was held at the church’s headquarters on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
He said, “When it looked impossible and when men rose, He (God) came out to say that He is God and only He has the power.
“About the time when the crisis started a year ago, I came to the (RCCG) camp with my wife and met Daddy G.O.”
Obaseki said after explaining his political challenges, Adeboye told him, “My son, it is well. Don’t be afraid, you will overcome and you will win.”
