Until recently, Logan Dailey was a deputy sheriff in rural Cherry County, Nebraska. But today, he s the managing editor and reporter for four rural news outlets and a farming business publication based in Wyoming. I would say both are noble professions, he said. I mean, they re both, in my opinion, very important professions.
Dailey loves his new job, but he says certain kinds of media can poison how the public sees the police, even in rural areas. He remembers one experience he had as a cop where he saw a young boy in a town he used to patrol.

The Sandhills Cattle Association is proud to support the future of agriculture and the beef industry. That’s why we are excited to announce the 2021 scholarship applications are now open. We have a total of $9,000 up for grabs this year.
For 30 years, the Sandhills Cattle Association has awarded scholarships to the youth of the association members. In that time, 479 applications have been reviewed and reduced to 119 scholarship recipients, who have been awarded $102,750 just from the Sandhills Cattle Association alone. Funds for this program are raised through the annual benefit auction held at every convention. In September of 2020, we brought in nearly $6,700 just from the scholarship auction alone, thanks to many vendors’ generous donations throughout the Sandhills region.

do not sign up with the State. NCDHD will continue to schedule your vaccine. If you are 65+ and did not sign up with NCDHD, please sign up on the new Nebraska registry, located at www.ncdhd.ne.gov.
The Sandhills Area Foundation is dedicated to supporting education and has established a long standing tradition of providing college scholarships to students in the Cherry County area. The funds provide financial assistance to aid area students in successfully pursuing their educational goals. The scholarship applications can be found on their new website, sandhillsareafoundation.com , and the application deadline is March 1, 2021.
They announced an additional fund for 2021, the CapRock Scholarship , which will award five $2,000 scholarships.
