‘We are disappointed’: Chamber reacts to sale of 234-acre waterfront property
Vernon’s leading voice of business has expressed its disappointment over the recent sale of the Chelsea Estate.
On Tuesday, news broke that the 234-acre property on Okanagan Lake had sold for an unspecified price to an unnamed buyer.
The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce had pushed for the province to purchase the property as an extension of Ellison Provincial Park.
“We are disappointed that BC Parks and local government were not able to form a partnership that would have led to the acquisition of this property for provincial park,” said president Krystin Kempton in a statement.

A former Okanagan resort with over 200 acres of waterfront has sold
The Okanagan real estate market is as hot as ever, but it s always a surprise when a property of this magnitude changes hands.
After being listed last June, a 234-acre property known as the Chelsea Estate located on Okanagan Lake has sold.
Details of the deal are currently scarce, but the official listing on Unique Properties does confirm the sale.
BC Assessment had recently valued the estate at over $16 million, with its listing boasting an accessible sandy beach along with rolling fields irrigated by natural springs.
Mark Lester and Marshall Macleod were responsible for the listing, which never stated a formal asking price.
