Library image: Ford Fiesta A DURSLEY teenager who drove without care and attention must pay almost £400 in fines, costs and surcharges. Max Orrin, 19, of Long Street, Dursley, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Fiesta without due care and attention when he appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Wednesday, December 9. The incident occurred in Peters Street, Frocester on Monday, June 22. Orrin was fined £283 and must pay £85 in costs plus a £30 surcharge. In addition, five penalty points were added to his licence. He must pay the total amount owed - £398 - by January 6.
A 59 year-old man has plead not guilty to supplying Class A drugs. David Clark, of Church Street, King s Stanley, pleaded not guilty to supplying heroin and crack cocaine to others between September 5 and October 6 at Gloucester Crown Court on Tuesday. Clark was released on bail until his trial date of June 1. James Newton, 27, of Lansdown Crescent, Cheltenham, was also before the court as a co-defendant. Newton admitted his part in drugs supply. Newton pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin to others between September 5 and October 6. He had already pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing before Cheltenham Magistrates Court to a similar charge involving crack cocaine and to being in possession of criminal property, a quantity of cash.
Officers were in court yesterday to obtain the closure order for the address in Paganhill. A spokesman for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: Following a hearing at Cheltenham Magistrates Court, a closure order was secured on a flat in the Jack Russell Close area of Stroud. This was in response to community concerns regarding anti-social behaviour and drugs misuse at the flat, which was impacting upon the quality of life for residents, their families and visitors. We would like to thank Sovereign Housing, a local social housing provider, for working with us to address the problems caused by this tenant and to get the property closed.

Northleach man, 24, handed ban for having no insurance A 24-YEAR-OLD Northleach man has been banned from driving for six months after he was convicted of driving without insurance. Joshua Arthurs, of Mays Crescent, pleaded guilty via the Single Justice Procedure, when he failed to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on December 9. Magistrates heard how Arthurs drove on Landsdowne, Bourton-On-The-Water, on August 1, 2019, without insurance. He was fined £120, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32 and pay costs of £85.
