Drink driving: Barnaby Pearce, 31, of Ampney Crucis | Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard

A 31-YEAR-OLD Cotswold man who was caught behind the wheel whilst more than three times over the alcohol limit has been banned from driving for 14 months. Barnaby Pearce, 31, of Penny Patch, Ampney Crucis, pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of alcohol when he appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates Court on April 12. Magistrates heard how Pearce was behind the wheel of his Nissan Navara on the A429 Fosse Way, Farmington, whilst he was under the influence of alcohol on July 16, 2020. Pearce was found to have 106 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35 micrograms. He was fined £1,500, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £150 and pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Stroud drink driver banned for 3 years and electronically tagged

A 29-year-old Stroud man has been banned from the roads for 36 months and electronically tagged after drink driving. Steven Pace, of Bath Road, was almost three times over the legal limit when he drove his Vauxhall along Dr Newton’s Way in Stroud on July 19, 2020. He gave a reading of 96 micrograms of alcohol per 100 milliliters of breath: the legal limit is 35. The judge at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on March 26 disqualified him from driving and ordered Pace, who pleaded guilty, to be electronically tagged so as enforce a month-long curfew. Between March 26 and April 23, Pace must remain at his home address between the hours of 8pm and 6am each day.

Stow-on-the-Wold drink-driver banned for over three years

A 45-YEAR-OLD Stow man who was caught behind the wheel whilst more than three times over the alcohol limit has been banned from driving for three-and-a-half years. James Black, 45, of Wraggs Row, Stow-on-the-Wold, pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of alcohol when he appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates Court on March 26. Magistrates heard how Black was behind the wheel of his Mercedes on the A429 near Stow whilst he was under the influence of alcohol. Black was found to have 116 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35 micrograms. He was ordered to participate in a rehabilitation activity requirement up to a maximum of 12 days, fined £60, ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £95 and pay costs of £40.
