All Telcos Fail PTA s 4G Quality of Service Survey in Lahore

None of the Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) have achieved the 90 percent confidence level in Lahore with respect to 4G signal strength as per the license conditions, says Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). In order to measure the performance and service quality of 2G (GSM), 3G (UMTS/HSPA+ etc), and 4G (LTE), of Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs), PTA carried out an independent Quality of Service (QoS) survey of Lahore through a 3rd Party Service Provider from 15th -28th February 2021 and 3rd – 8th March 2021. In the QoS survey at Lahore, different markets and hotspot areas during the 20 days of tests from 0800 to 2100 hours on daily basis by deploying urban mobility riders.

PTA Finalizes Consultant for Additional Spectrum Auction and License Renewal in AJ&K and GB Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has selected Telconet Services (Pvt.) Ltd. as a consultant for cellular license renewal and additional spectrum auction in 1800 and 2100 MHz bands in Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) and Gilgit Baltistan (GB). The consultant hiring process for AJ&K and GB auction has been completed, and an agreement was signed with Telconet Services (Pvt.) Ltd. Four companies/firms had applied for consultancy services, namely: Telconet Services (Pvt.) Ltd. SAY BI Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. Two companies, Telconet Services (Pvt.) Ltd, and Communicators Globe (Pvt.) Ltd, were short-listed. Later Telconet Pvt Ltd was finalized, and the contract has been signed with the company, and works are in progress.
