It was announced on Friday, February 19th that Lubbock Power & Light was still on track to move from the Southwest Power Pool to ERCOT despite outages related to severe winter weather.
UMC Provided 3,800 Lunches from United Supermarkets

The University Medical Center System has received 3,850 boxed lunches from United Supermarkets to feed workers across the system for the UMC Hero Break.
UMC has been conducting Hero Breaks for employees so they can be recognized for their hard work and dedication during the COVID-19 pandemic.
For this Hero Break, United Supermarkets hopped in to provide lunches to employees at every UMC location. Team members from united delivered 3,250 of the lunches for day shift employees and then 600 more for night shift employees.

Lubbock Home Dedication Ceremony Happening Thursday, Feb. 4th
On Thursday, February 4th, Lubbock Habitat for Humanity is hosting its second Home Dedication ceremony of 2021.
There will also be a workshop the following Saturday for anyone who may be interesting in building a home with Habitat.
Starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Lubbock Habitat will dedicate a home for Mackenzie Henson, Michael Sandoval and their children at 3313 East Dartmouth.
Habitat and ONE Lubbock is also hosting a mandatory workshop for those interesting in applying for the Habitat affordable housing program. This event will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 406 North Zenith. Masks will be mandatory and occupancy is limited.
