2020 may be coming to an end, but the challenges we faced this year continue. Millions of people have been affected by the consequences of the Covid-19 crisis across the world. It took away the lives of over 1 million, 690,000 people. In Kazakhstan, coronavirus cases surpassed 191,000 in Kazakhstan. The official number of death cases from Covid-19 is over 2,600, however, the real number may be times larger. As a consequence of the restrictions, Kazakhstan’s economy shrank 2.7%. Nearly 300,000 businesses had to shut down. 1.6 million people reported a loss of income. Registered domestic violence cases almost doubled. 4 million children’s education has been affected by the lockdown measures.
