Medical schools around the country seeing increase in enrollment
For 2021 academic year, increase in 18%.

Medical schools around the country are seeing a new, encouraging trend in the middle of the pandemic. The Association of American Medical Colleges reports the number of students applying to medical schools for the 2021 academic year is up 18% from last year.
âSome are calling it the Fauci effect,â says Dr. Lee Learman, Dean of the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. âSo many good things come from Dr. Fauci, one of them may be to inspire careers for other folks that are interested in medicine.â
