Home health company Amedisys has signed an agreement to buy Visiting Nurse Association, a 125-year-old nonprofit that provides hospital care to patients in Nebraska and Iowa.Â

Baton Rouge-based Amedisys, which has an executive office in Nashville, will provide back-end support and seek to grow the nursing network in its markets.
