NASA s Perseverance Mars Rover and Mars Ingenuity mini-helicopter took their first selfie together and itâs nothing less than epic. Captioned âTwo bots, one selfieâ, the Ingenuity helicopter can be seen at about 13 feet (4 meters) away from the rover in the image.
The selfie has been shared by NASAâs Perseverance Mars Rover official Twitter where the caption states, âTwo bots, one selfie. Greetings from Jezero Crater, where Iâve taken my first selfie of the mission. Iâm also watching the #MarsHelicopter Ingenuity as it gets ready for its first flight in a few days. Daring mighty things indeedâ. Ever since its posting, the image has received over 29,000 likes, 5,000 retweets, and 200 comments. Check it out:

Like a friend telling the group chat they ve safely arrived at their vacation destination, NASA s Perseverance rover captured a selfie Tuesday next to the Ingenuity helicopter on Mars.
The selfie was shared in GIF form on Wednesday, a two-frame animation in which Perseverance s mast camera (aka its head) is looking at the camera and back at Ingenuity. Ingenuity was attached to Perseverance s underside during the 293-million-mile journey from Earth and successfully deployed onto the Martian surface Saturday.

WASHINGTON: NASA s Ingenuity mini-helicopter has survived its first night alone on the frigid surface of Mars, the US space agency said, hailing it as a major milestone for the tiny craft as it prepares for its first flight.
The ultra-light aircraft was dropped on the surface on Saturday after detaching from the belly of the Perseverance rover, which touched down on the Red Planet on Feb 18.
Detached from the Perseverance, Ingenuity had to rely on its own solar-powered battery to run a vital heater to protect its unshielded electrical components from freezing and cracking during the bitter Martian night, where temperatures can plunge as low as minus 130 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 90 degrees Celsius).
