Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose says there is more than meets the eyes when it comes to the issue of Governor Seyi Makinde and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West.
Fayose who was a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today was of the opinion that while Governor Makinde looks quiet, he is deadly.
The former Ekiti state governor’s comment was in reaction to a viral video that showed some thugs threatening to kill him (Fayose) if he attends the PDP congress which recently held in Osun State.
According to Fayose, the thugs who were making the threats were associated with Governor Makinde of Oyo State.

Imo Attacks: Why Gunmen Overpowered Police–Minister
Speaking on Friday, the police affairs minister confirmed that the DSS alerted the police before Monday attacks in Imo. He said the police fought well but the gunmen overpowered the police because they “came prepared”.

Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi, has said gunmen overpowered the Imo State Police Command men on Monday because they “came with all the arsenals at their disposal” and “in large numbers”.
Dingyadi stated this on Friday while featuring on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ programme monitored by The PUNCH.

Gunmen on Monday attacked the Owerri Correctional Centre and freed over 1,800 inmates. The attackers also razed the Imo State Police Command headquarters in Owerri and burnt all the vehicles parked at the command headquarters.

The Nigerian Correctional Service has released the names and photos of some of the inmates who escaped during a jailbreak in Owerri, Imo State capital.
Gunmen had in the early hours of Monday attacked the Correctional Centre at Owerri, releasing 1,844 inmates from the facility.
The gunmen also attacked the state police command headquarters and freed 600 suspects from the cells.
As of Wednesday, the NCoS said on its website that it had a total of 84 inmates back in custody. It said the figure included those who did not flee in the first place, those recaptured, those who voluntarily returned, and those returned by their relations, traditional rulers and religious leaders.

A former Assistant Director with the Department of State Services, Dennis Amachree, had said the secret police alerted the Nigeria Police Force at least three times before Monday attacks in Imo but the police failed to act on intelligence.
