Russia registers 17,741 new Covid-19 cases, lowest number since late Oct, in past 24 hours - HQ
MOSCOW. Jan 27 (Interfax) - Russia registered 17,741 new Covid-19 cases, which is the lowest number since late October, as well as 594 deaths in the past 24 hours, the coronavirus response headquarters said in a statement on Wednesday. Over the past day, 17,741 Covid-19 cases were confirmed in 85 regions of Russia, including 1,834 asymptomatic cases identified proactively (10.3%), the headquarters said.
The daily number of new Covid-19 cases passed the 17,000 threshold in Russia for the first time on October 23, 2020. Later on, the numbers varied from 16,500 to 17,717 until a new spike in infections occurred. There had been no stabilization until the beginning of January 2021.
