MOSCOW, May 26. /TASS/. Facebook, Twitter and other Big Tech titans should have the databases of their Russian users located on the territory of the country by July 1, 2021, Milos Wagner, deputy head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media said on Wednesday. By July 1, Facebook, Twitter and other social networks should ensure their Russian users data residency in Russia, according to a slide in the presentation Wagner made at the meeting.

Facebook may get 12 fines totaling 56 mln rubles due to failure to remove prohibited content
MOSCOW. May 17 (Interfax) - Another four administrative offense motions have been lodged with a Moscow magistrates court in regard to Facebook that might be penalized with multimillion fines. A magistrates court in Moscow s Tagansky district has registered four motions regarding administrative offenses committed by Facebook. The hearing has yet to be scheduled, a court representative told Interfax on Monday.
The social network is thus facing new administrative fines totaling 16 million rubles.
In all, the court is processing 12 motions. If the social network is found guilty, it will face fines totaling up to 56 million rubles (over $750,000).
