Sonoma County is set to receive federal grant funding for coronavirus relief. Officials said yesterday that the county will get nearly 18-million dollars in grant money. The Department of Health Services will use the money to expand the county’s public health workforce, lab testing, as well as other goals. One of the focuses remains on health equity, as supervisors and health officials again pointed to the disproportionate gap in vaccine accessibility for the Latino community.

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors are set to approve the final version of their 5-year strategic plan. The board meeting will be held tomorrow, after officials spent months drafting the plan, and receiving public input. The 5-year plan hopes to address a number of issues, like homelessness, enhancing mental health treatment, racial equity, and county infrastructure among other items.
