A front-page article May 14 in the Daily Republic details how the state’s newly appointed attorney general, Rob Bonta, a Democrat Assemblyman from Oakland and former deputy city attorney in San Francisco, made serious accusations against Solano County District Attorney Krishna Abrams, questioning her integrity and professional competency.
The issue is the unfortunate Sean Monterrosa case out of Vallejo.

FAIRFIELD The California Department of Justice will investigate the June 2020 police shooting death of Sean Monterrosa in Vallejo to determine whether criminal charges are warranted.
The Attorney General’s Office was particularly critical Thursday of Solano County District Attorney Krishna Abrams, stating that she had “abdicated her responsibility as the elected district attorney and refused to conduct a review of the Vallejo Police Department’s investigation of the incident.”
“Without accountability, there is no justice,” Attorney General Rob Bonta said in the statement released Thursday.
1 dead after police pursuit, crash in Vallejo
VALLEJO A man is dead after police said he led them on a brief chase Saturday in the city and crashed into a tree.
The man who died was identified as a 32-year-old Contra Costa County resident. His name was withheld pending family notification, police report.
Members of the Solano County Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a portion of the incident since the fatal crash happened during a police pursuit.
The incident began just after 6 a.m. when Vallejo police officers responded to a call from a community member who reported seeing a man slumped over the wheel of an idling car that was parked in the area of Redwood Street and Chenin Blanc Place.

Task force wants to talk to tow truck driver, seeks public’s help

VACAVILLE The Solano County Major Crimes Task Force is looking for the tow truck driver who stopped to help a motorist shortly before a fatal police shooting Jan. 30.
The motorist had been involved in a single-vehicle crash at about 10:30 p.m. at westbound Interstate 80 near Midway Road.
California Highway Patrol officers arrived shortly after that and the tow truck driver left the area.
