Officials ID Vallejo man killed in crash at Highway 12, Beck Avenue FAIRFIELD A Vallejo man was killed and five others injured when a pickup truck slammed into the back of a Chevrolet Camaro, causing a six-vehicle pileup Thursday evening on Highway 12 at Beck Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported. Diego Morales, 24, the driver of the Camaro, was identified as the individual who died in the crash, the Solano County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office reported Friday. He was the only person in the Camaro. The CHP reported that a Dodge 2500 pickup, driven by Michael Solis, 35, of Vallejo, failed to stop while traveling west on Highway 12 and coming up on traffic at Beck Avenue.

Sacramento man dies in single-vehicle crash near Dixon DIXON The man who died in a single-vehicle crash shortly after 3:30 p.m. Sunday has been identified as Freddie Martinez, 45, of Sacramento, the Solano County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office reports. The California Highway Patrol reported that Martinez was driving west on Interstate 80, west of Highway 113, when he apparently lost control of his 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe and it overturned. Martinez, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center where he died from his injuries, the CHP reports. The cause of the crash is still being investigated. The CHP reports that alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected at this time.

The California Highway Patrol began receiving 911 calls at approximately 10:31 p.m. about a solo car crash on Interstate 80 west of Dixon Avenue, the District Attorney’s Office reports in a statement about the incident. CHP officers responded to the scene to assist and investigate the reported traffic accident. Preliminary reports indicated the incident occurred in the area of Oday Road, which fronts I-80 for a short stretch between Dixon and Vacaville.

CHP seeks driver after man struck, killed by vehicle in north Vacaville area VACAVILLE A 32-year-man, who had pulled over on Hartley Road in the north Vacaville area due to mechanical issues, was struck and killed Friday by a vehicle that then fled the scene, the California Highway Patrol reports. The Solano County Sheriff-Coroner’s Officer identified the man as Joseph Bertinoia. His city of residence was not yet known. The incident occurred about 6:55 a.m. near the intersection of Robinson Road. “Evidence at the scene indicates that the driver pulled over to the side of the road to resolve mechanical issues with his vehicle,” the CHP states in its initial report. “After exiting his vehicle, an unknown vehicle traveling northbound on Hartley Road, collided with the victim, causing fatal injuries.”
