JAKARTA (The Jakarta Post/ANN): Indonesia will be key to recovering aviation demand in Southeast Asia over the next two decades, according to American aircraft manufacturer Boeing Co, one of the world’s biggest.
Boeing vice president commercial marketing Darren Hulst said the company expected to deliver 4,400 new aircraft to Southeast Asia as the region recovered from the Covid-19 pandemic between 2020 and 2039.
Of the figure, a quarter would go to Indonesia.

JAKARTA (The Jakarta Post/ANN): E-commerce players believe several recently implemented regulations will burden the industry this year as the government tightens controls on Southeast Asia’s largest digital economy.
Indonesian E-commerce Association (IdEA) chairman Bima Laga said on Wednesday that certain requirements under the Job Creation Law, the Stamp Duty Law, a certain government regulation (PP) and a ministerial regulation would create downside risks for e-commerce.
All the laws were introduced last year except the PP, which was introduced in 2019. JAKARTA (The Jakarta Post/ANN): Venture capital (VC) firms are bullish about investment growth in Indonesia and Southeast Asia in the medium term after seeing strong growth in start-up financing last year.
Indonesian VC investments grew 6.3 per cent year-on-year (yoy) to Rp 13.5 trillion (US$959.3 million) last year, Financial Services Authority (OJK) data shows, driven by the expansion of technology start-ups after countries imposed Covid-19 mobility restrictions in early 2020.
VC firms expect technology start-ups to continue growing this year and beyond as mobility restrictions in Southeast Asia spur the adoption of digital services for commerce, health, education and grocery shopping, among other areas.
