Focusing on providing basics like medications, medical supplies and food. It also established air bridges to facilitate the return of citizens and the smooth return of expats to their countries. Ismail Mohammed Al Balooshi, Official Spokesperson of UAE aviation sector said that to contain the pandemic and resume flights, the UAE developed protocols to ease flights’ return with precautionary measures to prevent spreading during travel.

Nearly 45% of UAE s population inoculated against coronavirus

The ministry of health in the United Arab Emirates has so far vaccinated 3,480,415 people against COVID-19, which accounts for 44.89 percent of the target segment of UAE population, the country's health officials said during a media briefing on Tuesday.

Abu Dhabi: The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has vaccinated more than 3.48 million people against COVID-19, accounting for nearly 45 per cent of the target segment of UAE population, said Dr. Farida Al Hosani, spokesperson for the UAE Health Sector. She added that 57.66 per cent of the total population aged over 60 have been inoculated against the virus. During the media briefing held by the UAE Government on the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Dr. Al Hosani stated that 5,668,264 doses have been administered, at 57.31 doses per 100 people, while the number of tests conducted crossed the 29 million mark. She added that the UAE is developing its preventive systems and performing ongoing assessments of related outcomes, most notably in terms of health sector statistics and indexes, to boost the sector’s capacity and offer the best healthcare services to members of the community.
