Intensify efforts to procure vaccines for alternative sources: BNP United News of Bangladesh (UNB)
Bangladesh, May 2 Voicing concerns over the suspension of administering the first dose of Covid vaccine in Bangladesh, the BNP standing committee has urged the government to intensify its efforts for collecting the jabs from alternative sources. Our standing committee is worried over the vaccine crisis and the suspension of the vaccination programme. The government couldn t collect the necessary vaccine doses due to its irresponsibility and incompetence, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said on Sunday.
Speaking at a virtual press conference on the outcomes of BNP standing committee s meeting held on Saturday, he said the government has also failed to take the right decision on the vaccine import as it has become isolated from people .

Khaleda Zia will have to stay 2-3 days in hospital
Coronavirus-infected BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia ill have to stay in the hospital for another two-three days for some physical tests.
Khaleda’s personal physician AZM Zahid Hossain informed this on Wednesday.
“Madam was not admitted to the hospital because of her sickness rather for regular check-up. As all the tests could not be done at night, so, she will be undergone the tests staying at hospital,” he said.
The BNP chief was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital on Tuesday midnight.
Confirming the matter, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “Madam’s (Khaleda Zia) physical condition is better now. She needs further medical tests. Because of it, she will stay at the hospital tonight (Wednesday night).”
