Khaleda no longer close to BNP leaders’ hearts!

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who has been staying out of politics since her imprisonment over three years ago, seems no longer dear to party leaders as indicated by their recent activities.
Since her imprisonment on February 8, 2018, BNP used to keep a chair on the dais vacant in its every political programme in honour of the party chief while there had been portraits of party founder Ziaur Rahman, Khaleda and acting Chairman Tarique Rahman in every banner.
But the scenario has changed in recent times as the party and its different front and associate bodies have been arranging programmes without keeping any chair vacant for Khaleda.
Fakhrul receives first Covid-19 vaccine dose at Kuwait Maitree Hospital

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
He received the jab at Kuwait Maitree Hospital on Monday morning, the BNP leader told UNB.
Earlier, Fakhrul went to Singapore for treatment on January 30 and returned home last Thursday.
Meanwhile, BNP Standing Committee members Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, BNP Chairperson s Adviser Zainul Abedin Faruk and the party s Joint Secretary General Mahbub Uddin Khokon have already received the first dose of the vaccine.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said his party will not take part in the next Union Parishad elections. The BNP leader announced the party's decision at a press conference at BNP chairperson's political office in Dhaka's Gulshan area this afternoon. Fakhrul also confirmed the party's decision to The Daily Star this evening.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said their party considers Bangabandhu s March 7 speech a part of Liberation War history and they do not want to undermine him. We won t just observe March 7, but also March 2, March 3…these incidents are part of the history of the Liberation War. How can we deny history? he said.
The BNP leader said, The speech of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is surely a part of history (of the Liberation War) and we must give him the honour and dignity he deserves.
