6.7 quake 1 May 10:27 am (GMT +9)
The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a magnitude 6.7 quake in Japan near Ishinomaki, Ishinomaki Shi, Miyagi, only 12 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Saturday 1 May 2021 at 10:27 am local time at a moderately shallow depth of 63 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from Geoscience Australia (GeoAu) which listed the quake at magnitude 6.8. Other agencies reporting the same quake include Japan s National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) at magnitude 6.9, the United States Geological Survey at magnitude 6.6, and the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) at magnitude 6.7.

Moderate earthquake of magnitude 4.9 just reported 35 km southeast of Owase, Japan

An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 occurred only 11 minutes ago 35 km southeast of Owase, Japan, Japan s National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED) reported.
The quake hit at a great depth of 402.8 km beneath the epicenter near Owase, Owase Shi, Mie, Japan, early morning on Saturday 1 May 2021 at 2:45 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

4.5 quake 1 May 3:50 am (GMT +8)
Just 9 minutes ago, a 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck near Palu, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. The tremor was recorded early morning on Saturday 1 May 2021 at 3:50 am local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.
The event was filed by Indonesia s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.5 earthquake as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Poso (pop. 47,100) located 73 km from the epicenter, and Palu (pop. 282,400) 76 km away.
