Two Neo-JMB members arrested in Dhaka

Dhaka, May 5 (IANS): The Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police has arrested two suspected militants of the banned extremist outfit ‘Neo-JMB from the Matuail area in Dhaka.
The duo had reportedly gathered at Matuail to plan sabotage in Dhaka city, members of the CTTC said.
The accused persons used to communicate online with the members of Neo JMB at various levels, including its top leaders.
One of the arrested persons has been identified as Sakib Ahmed Chowdhury alias Jaki, while the identity of the second accused has not been disclosed yet.

GUWAHATI: Two neo-Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (neo-JMB) cadres were arrested with arms and fake Indian currency notes (FICN) over Rs 1 lakh by the special branch of Assam police in Dhubri district in lower Assam.
The cadres have been identified as Mozibar Rahman alias Gunbar Ali and his brother Faizar Ali from Lakura area under Gauripur police station in the district. They were arrested on April 24, but was not revealed due to security issues.
Police recovered four country-made pistols, fake Indian currency note of Rs 1 lakh denominations and a few suspected gold sheets from Mozibar. He has been booked under sections 120(B), 420 and 489(A) of IPC and Section 25 I(A) of the Arms Act.

Appeal follows arrest of two members of new module in State The Assam police on Friday sought the help of Muslims in Assam in identifying members of a new module of the extremist Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
The appeal followed the arrest of two recruits of the module in western Assam’s Dhubri district bordering Bangladesh. The police recovered four firearms and ₹1.02 lakh in fake Indian currency notes from the duo.
“…we appeal to the respected Muslim community and their leaders to come forward and assist us in identifying the other members of this module. We also appeal to them to help us bring all such radicalized elements to mainstream,” Assam’s Director-General of Police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta tweeted.
