Three terrorists were killed, while one surrendered before security forces during an encounter in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, police said.
The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Kanigam area of the South Kashmir district during the night following information about the presence of terrorists there, a police official said.

An encounter took place between security forces and terrorists in Pulwama s Litter village in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning. The security forces gunned down two terrorists Wasim Shah and Hafiz Nisar.

Srinagar: In a big success for the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, at least 12 terrorists have been killed so far in four different operations over the last 72 hours, Director General of Police (DGP) said on Sunday. An operation at Bijbehara has concluded. 12 terrorists neutralised, so far, in four separate operations over last 72 hrs comprising seven terrorists at Tral and Shopian, three terrorists of Al Badr at Haripora and now two more at Bijbehara who were working with LeT, ANI quoted Singh as saying.
Three terrorists have been trapped by the security forces at the site of the encounter which is currently underway in the Kakapora area in Pulwama district, police said on Friday. #Encounter has started at Kakapora area of #Pulwama. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow, said Kashmir Zone Police earlier in a tweet. On Thursday, a house guard of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Anwar Khan was killed after his residence was attacked by terrorists in Srinagar s Nowgam. One sentry Rameez Ahmad, critically injured in the attack succumbed to his injuries, the police had said.
