18 member PSC delegation arrives in Srinagar on study tour

Srinagar, Jan 20: An 18 member Parliamentarian delegation arrived here today on a study tour and they are meeting all party leaders tomorrow before meeting various officials and stakeholders of tourism, culture and transport.
The members are part of standing committee on tourism, culture and transport. An official said that 13 MPs arrived today and rest will join them tomorrow. He said it is 31 member delegation including 13 officials.
They will review the tourism infrastructure and would meet officials and other stakeholders associated with the sector regarding publicity and promotions in the Valley at the Taj Vivanta hotel where they are staying.

2 missing, another injured as truck plunges into nallah

JAMMU, Jan 18: Two persons are missing while another was injured after a canter truck they were travelling in plunged into a nallah near Sherbibi area along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway today early morning.
As per police sources, a truck bearing Registration Number HR38-1633 skidded off the road and fell into a nallah near Sherbibi area along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of members of quick response and locals.
Jaish operatives travelled from Valley to take consignment

JAMMU, Jan 18: After suspected infiltration from tunnels dug on the International Border, police have come across a plot of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) outfit who had picked up consignment of arms, ammunition and explosives which was dropped through drone in Vijaypur sector of Samba district from Pakistan and was being taken to the Kashmir valley by two militants of the outfit.
Both the militants have been arrested between Batote and Ramban stretch of the National Highway.
A police spokesman identified the arrested militants as Umar Ahmed Malik son of Abdul Ahmed Malik and Suhail Ahmed Malik son of Mohammad Yaseen Malik, both residents of village Semthan in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district, affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed outfit.
