20 held over rioting in Johor

JOHOR BARU: Some 20 individuals have been arrested by the police to assist in investigations into a riot on the first day of Hari Raya. State Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Md Yusof Ahmad (pic) said the suspects, aged between 16 and 28, were arrested during an operation around the Batu Pahat area which started at about 11pm on Thursday. He said they were brought to court and remanded until May 17. The police said that on February 20 at about 6.20am, they received a report from a female victim informing them that her undergarments hung outside her residential unit along Jalan Batu in Mountbatten had been stolen.
