Every year heading into June my inbox is flooded with story pitches from people who want me to write about bourbon gifts for Father’s Day. Every once in a while, if I’m feeling salty, I will reply to ask why they think bourbon is for dads but not moms. Worse still, the gift ideas are usually meh at best.
Does anyone really use those whiskey stones? Come on.
Since I bought my own mom whiskey for a gift the first year I was legally able to, and she’s the kind of mom who clued me into the amazing value bourbon that’s now my super-secret house pour (Benchmark!), and nearly every woman I know enjoys a good whiskey, I wonder every year why we don’t celebrate Mother’s Day with bourbon gifts.
